Metro Taxi supports Denver.
We are proud to be a part of Denver community projects and initiatives that positively impact the lives of others.
A police car or a taxi ride?
Sober Hero/choose your ride – Metro Transportation donated a half painted hybrid cab/cruiser to the Golden Police Department. This initiative promotes responsible drinking and driving and reminds motorists to choose their methods of transportation wisely.
Guaranteed Ride Home Program
The Guaranteed Ride Home® program provides a free taxi ride home from the office for employees who experience a personal emergency, whether it’s a mere unexpected schedule change or a sick child.
9Health Fair
Metro Taxi provides FREE transportation to and from all of the 9Health fair sites across the Denver Metro Area.
The 9Health Fair is Colorado’s largest and most trusted non-profit health fair program. Created by the National Institutes of Health project and 9NEWS, 9Health Fair’s free, low cost health screenings and education program has earned unique endorsements from the Colorado Medical Society, the Colorado Nurses Association and the Colorado Hospital Association. Since1980, 9Health Fair has impacted 1.7 million lives.
The Epworth United Methodist Church and the Daddy Bruce Thanksgiving Dinner
Each year Metro Taxi drivers volunteer to deliver Thanksgiving meals to families and individuals in need who are physically unable to pick up their Thanksgiving meal. Every Saturday before Thanksgiving, members of Metro Taxi’s staff volunteer their time to help load Metro Taxis full of turkeys and side dishes for hand delivery to the doorsteps of families in need at holiday time.
The Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Metro Taxi has proudly participated in the annual Denver Saint Patrick’s Day Parade for over 20 years. This parade is the largest of its kind, west of the Mississippi River. Metro Taxi is always a participant to remind those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day to not drink and drive, and to take a taxi instead.
Windsource®
Metro Taxi is demonstrating environmental and community leadership by subscribing to Windsource®, brought to us by ConservationSmart from Xcel EnergySM. Windsource® provides clean, renewable wind-generated electricity for 100% of our electricity needs. The energy that supplies Windsource® is 100 percent wind energy generated or purchased from Colorado wind farms. The electricity is added to the Xcel Energy system for use across our service area in Colorado.
“I Remember Mama” Mother’s Day Brunch
Metro Taxi Drivers Volunteer to Drive Moms to Mother’s Day Brunch for FREE for Volunteers of America of Colorado.
The “I Remember Mama” brunch is an annual event organized by the Volunteers of America Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, which is one of Metro Taxi’s largest accounts. A local Restaurant feeds about 150 women with an outstanding brunch. Metro Taxi drivers help make this event possible by providing a free ride to and from the brunch to all of the women nominated to attend the brunch.
We would also like to thank the Denver Police Department for directing traffic, making it possible for the Metro Taxi drivers to smoothly and safely drop off these wonderful women directly to the front entrance of the event venue. Each of the ladies are presented with gift bags and roses.
